05. Rapid Chess Competitions

  Approved by the 1987 General Assembly.
Amended by the 1988, 1989, 1994 and 1995 General Assemblies.
1.

Games of this time control shall be named Rapid Chess. Federations should be permitted to use alternative names determined by language and sponsorship considerations.

2.

The title of "Expert" shall be awarded to players who achieve a Rapid Chess rating above 2300 in over 90 Rapid Chess games from two Rapid Chess rating lists (minimum 30 games per list).

3.

The scale of entry fees shall be:
Continental Tournament SFr.100
Intercontinental Tournament SFr.200
Finalists SFr.250
Entry fees are waived for a period of four years until 1998. (GA '94)

4.

Registration fee is SFr.100 for each Rapid Chess event. (GA '94)

5.

Rating fees for players are waived for a period of four years until 1998. (GA '94)
