FIDE Category Player (GA '98)
The title of FIDE category player is conferred on a player who
has a rating and is listed on the FIDE Rating list. To receive this title, the
player shall apply as follows :
- He shall forward his application to the FIDE Secretariat with an application
fee of SFr 100.- through his national federation. The application shall contain
his rating and the date of publication of this rating in the FIDE rating list,
the players full name, address and date of birth.
- The national federation of the applicant shall retain 20% of his application
fee for administrative purposes and remit the balance to the FIDE Secretariat
with the player application.
- On receipt of the fee and the details of the player application, the FIDE
Secretariat shall retain SFr 60.- and remit the balance of SFr 20.- to the
account of the title and rating committee while a certificate signed by the FIDE
President shall be forwarded to the Federation of the player.
